Storyteller Nik Brooks, pictured above at a previous Art
Garden event, held the fort (no pun intended) all alone for this event,
recounting tales featuring tall towers and castle keeps, including:
The Doomed Prince
A story devised with the audience, involving: A princess trapped in a tower.
A hero-eating dragon that "sicks up" the digested heroes to feed the princess.
A knight with a pet tarantula, who fails to rescue the princess but gets
her in the end as his spider bites the dragon's eyes out to distract him
from an old blind woman who wanders in front of the dragon just as a pilot
and two soldiers are about to shoot the dragon with a bazooka from an aeroplane.
Which they do. Phew!
Stone Soup's other regular Storyteller, David Doyle, pictured
below, was otherwise engaged but will be back with us again for next month's
event, Tales of the Sea.
These events could not take place without the continued support of the
following:
The Storytellers
Maggie Parker - for use of the Art Garden Cafe
Martina Rooney - for photography
Harlequins
Party Shop - for assistance with Storytellers' costumes
Katie Tokus of MotionGrafik
- for PR and Media support
Keith Collins - for venue preparation and additional photography
